I really wish pundits could engage in logical debate rather than insane talking points.

Let’s move on from the bullshit. I’m glad that the leading candidates, McCain and Obama don’t talk in terms of complete bullshit. They don’t pander. I disagree with the policies McCain has set forth, but at least he’s talking policy and not talking out of his ass (much).

I just wish the political bases and the idiot talking heads that lead their flanks could comprehend this simple concept.

People like Kevin James ruin progress in any conversation.

Being the loudest doesn’t make you correct.

It only makes you look foolish.

Taking steps towards progress means deducing possible answers by framing the problem, not by purporting the answers and repeating what has already been said.

Reducing junk mail is easy. We all get the credit card applications and coupon books and we never use them. It’s a waste, but there are a few things you can do to greatly reduce the annoyance.

Register for the do not contact list at the Direct Marketing Association site. This will greatly cut down on unwanted catalogs and direct mailings like surveys and coupon books.
Put an end to pre-screened credit card offers from all the major credit card companies here. You can choose to be removed from the lists for life or for 5 years. Choosing life requires you to mail in a signed letter.
When giving money to charity or donating to a campaign, make it clear to them, in writing, that you would not like for them to share or rent your name and address.
Junkbusters.com has opt-out letters you can send to any mailers that continue to send you junk.
Consider using GreenDimes. For $20, GreenDimes will remove you from dozens of lists and make sure you stay off those lists. If there are catalogs you’d like to receive, the service will allow you to screen them and let them through. Lastly, they’ll plant 5 trees on your behalf. Pretty cool, no?

The new Scarlett Johansson Tom Waits cover album, Anywhere I Lay My Head kinda stinks, despite appearances by David Bowie, Stars Like Fleas drummer Ryan Sawyer and Yeah Yeah Yeah’s Nick Zinner. This song is from a leaked version of the album (maybe it’s a bad leak, but don’t get your hopes up May 20th). This song is the only non-Waits track on the album, “Song for Jo.”
